Essential Oils

essential oil bug repellent

The bugs down south don't take much of a break for winter. Our early springs have them awake and multiplying before you can say “essential oil bug repellent!”

With three little kids, and one on the way, I feel like we're constantly treating a bug bite. Of course the best thing it to prevent the bug bites from happening, but quick kids sometimes skip the line for Mama's Essential Oil Bug Repellent and run right out the door. When I can catch them, this is the spray we use, and it works! (Smells good too!)

Mama Z's Essential Oil Bug Repellent

My favorite way to repel insects is with natural products like essential oils. There are many oils that work, and even ready-made blends you can purchase, but we've found this DIY blend works well, and mixed with skin-friendly jojoba oil it not only smells good, it'll leave your skin feeling great too!

If you're worried about toxins and chemicals found in traditional bug repellents, give this a try and let me know how you like it.

Here's to a bite-free summer!

Safety & Contraindications

Are you sure you're using essential oils safely and effectively? Are you confused by dilutions and conversions?

Let me help take out the guesswork and download my FREE roller bottle guide HERE.

Essential Oil Roller Bottle Dilution Guide

When it comes to drug interactions and contraindications, there are literally textbooks devoted to the study of essential oil safety and, as a trained researcher and doctor, I think it’s important to note that there is virtually no research out there discussing how essential oils interact with drugs in long-term human clinical trials. This means that essential oil safety is still a wild frontier in the science community and no one really knows (for certain) how essential oils will interact with drugs or your body.

Nonetheless, properly diluting your essential oils is fundamental to safety and effectiveness because they are highly concentrated plant compounds. To help you along your journey, I have a created an easy-to-use dilution guide that you can download for FREE to make sure that all of your topical applications are safe and effective for the entire family.
