Essential Ingredients and Products for a Healthy Home

Essential Ingredients for a Healthy_Home_

Giving your home a “make over” to support a new healthy lifestyle can seem daunting at first. Usually, you’ll quickly discover that you need to replace many of the staple pantry items considered unsafe like othite, bleached sugar and flour. Then you’ll notice that you need new kitchen gadgets to prepare all those fresh ingredients and DIY projects on your to-do list. After you’ve made over the kitchen, you start to think about body products, household cleaners, getting rid of plastic, and all kinds of stuff!

Rest assured that this is completely normal, so don’t get stressed out about the transition. Take it all in baby-steps, focusing on the lowest hanging fruit. As you do what’s easiest and most affordable to implement at first, you’ll find that you can master the basics quite quickly. Then, next think you know, you’re picking fruit on top of the tree that you once thought was impossible to do!

This, my friend, is all part of the adventure, and our prayer is that by sharing our experience and this list of our favorite products, you’ll be inspired and encouraged on your own journey.

Must-Have Items to Stay Healthy

Must Have Items to Stay Healthy

Humans can live without food for a few weeks, without water for a few days and without air for just a few minutes. It’s important to put things into perspective to see how absolutely vital these are to our existence, and it should motivate us to provide our bodies with the very best of what’s available to us within our individual budgets. Because of this, I have found that these items are an absolute MUST if you want to minimize toxins, reduce your risk of developing disease and maintain a strong healthy profile:

  1. Aroma2Go – The best best aromatherapy supplies on the market, period. Their USB ultrasonic diffuser is the coolest thing, and all of their products are designed in Belgium. This gives their products a sophisticated “Euro” look and you’re going to fall in love with their diffusers, wraps, cases and necklaces! To welcome you to my website, I have a gift for you: use the coupon code DRZ10 to get 10% off your entire first purchase!
  2. Thrive Market – This is an online membership like Costco for health lovers! All of your favorite health products in one place for a great price, delivered to your door. Super convenient!  Dr. Z tribe members get a FREE gift for signing up for their 30-day trial! You can choose either a free jar of coconut oil, gluten-free coconut flour, jar of almond butter, non-toxic laundry detergent, jar of avocado mayo, pound of organic cacao powder super food, or free jar of raw honey. Decision, decisions!! 🙂
  3. Annmarie Skin Care – Your skin is a sponge, and the chemicals in conventional skin care products contain toxins that have been linked to a myriad of health conditions. My friends at Annmarie are offering $10 sample kits + $10 coupon just for the Dr. Z tribe!
  4. Wholetones Healing Frequencies Music – Using sound frequency to heal the mind and body is becoming a popular topic in the research community. Having been used for thousands of years in the form of ritual chants, this Christian-based music therapy has helped thousands of people by addressing the root cause of disease.
  5. Ceramic Cookware – Don’t believe it, teflon is still bad for you! Glass is best, but it’s way too hard to find, too expensive and too fragile. Ceramic is the most cost-effective, safest and durable solution! Use the code DRZ10 or click HERE to get a 10% off coupon!
  6. Shared Health Care Coverage – If you’re like me, you’re completely fed up with the current health care insurance model. Thankfully, I was introduced to Samaritan Ministries (a Biblical, non-insurance approach to health care needs) a while back. I cannot begin to tell you how much of a blessing this organization has been for my family and I, and I whole-heartedly refer them to all my friends and family. Please be sure to tell them that I referred you!
  7. Air Purifier – Far too many people take for granted that every breath we take will either give us Abundant Life-giving gasses like nitrogen and oxygen, or fill our lungs with pollutants. Make sure you get a purifier that filters out mold and other allergens!

Books & Resources

Books and Resources

As you grow in your understanding of Biblical health, your library will certainly grow with you! It’s exciting to see all of the books that are available to us today, but things can get quickly overwhelming for the beginner. To help narrow down the vast selection, here are some favorites that will prove to be valuable resources to help you master all 7 Key Areas of the Abundant Life.

Living a balanced life in all 7 areas is the true definition of “Biblical Health!”

  1. Spiritual Abundance – Having a thriving relationship with your Creator.
  2. Physical Abundance – Maintaining a strong, healthy body.
  3. Mental Abundance – Being intellectually sound and having the Mind of Christ.
  4. Emotional Abundance – Being at peace and enjoying a balance of healthy feelings.
  5. Financial Abundance – Having enough to provide for your family and to be BIG givers.
  6. Occupational Abundance – Truly enjoying the work of your hands.
  7. Social Abundance – Fostering deep, mutually beneficial relationships with friends, family and people that you encounter every day.

Supplements and Natural Remedies

Supplements and Natural Remedies

Like the Bible says, “The leaves of the trees are the healing of the nations,” and we have personally experienced wonderful results when using these natural remedies and supplements to keep our family healthy and strong! There are few products I recommend in this category as we’ve found most supplements to be useless – riddled with harmful fillers and manufactured in such a way that your body cannot properly absorb the ingredients. Essentially, most people pee and poop their money away because they’re taking supplements that are undigested!

These items, however, will not only give your body essential nutrition that you cannot get in your normal diet, they have been formulated to ensure you benefit from taking them!

When You Don’t Have Time to DIY

When You Don't Have Time to DIYIf you’re like most people, you have all the best intentions in the world, but the 24 hours you have in a day just doesn’t cut it sometimes when you’re trying to be Super Dad & Wonder Mom. When you’re under a time-cruch and can’t make all of your home and body products by hand, these are some good items you can trust. This is where your Thrive Market Membership will come handy – plus, the prices are great!

“Bleached sugar.” While I will agree that sugar in general is bad, come on. Pure sugar is already white. There is no reason to “bleach” it. No one bleaches sugar, ever, because there is no need. Whatever else you say, this untruth is rather telling. You have an agenda, and you are willing to lie to achieve it. Or you are not educated enough to realize you are simply parroting the lies of others. Either way, whatever you say after this can at best be regarded as silly, and at worst as deliberate propaganda.

Either way, if you are not deliberately lying, I encourage you to do some actual research on the subject. It is quite apparent you have not already done so.

      Hi Cornelius,

I think you’re confused by what “bleaching” is. According to the dictionary, “bleached” is defined as, “To make whiter or lighter in color, as by exposure to sunlight or a chemical agent; remove the color from.” http://www.dictionary.com/browse/bleached

This is exactly what happens to white sugar. I’m not saying that sugar is chemically altered with clorox. 😉 lol!

In the words of The Sugar Association, “Pure sugar crystals are naturally colorless. No artificial bleaching or whitening is necessary. Molasses, which is naturally present in sugar beet and sugar cane and gives brown sugar its color, is removed from the sugar crystal with water and centrifuging. Carbon filters absorb any remaining colored plant materials.” https://www.sugar.org/faq/

The bottom line is that the white sugar that you get at the store is not natural. It’s stripped of vital nutrients that make the sugar cane healthy. I hope this helps. 🙂

You ask to be mentioned as the referral in some of your “ads”. Do you get paid if we do that? eg. the Shared Health Coverage and the Crystal Quest water filters, AnnMarie Skin Care line, etc. If so, I am deeply saddened by that for various reasons.

Yes, Sylvia, as my affiliate disclaimer below states, my website receives referral commission.

Why would you be sad? We only recommend products that we use, trust and believe in. 🙂

Please note that running a website like DrEricZ.com and maintaining multiple educational newsletters to more than 150,000 subscribers requires several people and costs a considerably amount of money to maintain. I provide a wide range of information for FREE so people can learn Biblical health principles. Unless we generate money, we wouldn’t be able to afford to keep this site up. At the expense of the hundreds of thousands of people who regularly benefit from our articles and recipes and devotionals, I cannot imagine why someone would like to see this website go away.

I don’t think that I suggested that the web site go away. I would however suggest a user fee of some sort or a yearly membership that would quickly generate more than enough income to run the site and everything else. In my practice of 39 years as a Natural Health Consultant, my clients always held it in high esteem when I charged for all my services which included workshops, trainings, seminars, information on various topics and many other modalities. When a fee is requested, there is more value and respect to what is being offered. I too teach the Biblical truth and have done so for 39 years and going strong. I also only recommend things that have been researched, love and would use myself. Having said that, even those things that are recommended are not a one size fits all. We always do find the fit though.
A worker is due his or her wages and that is also one of the Biblical truths that somehow we have forgotten.
Keep on keeping on and no offense from this end and my sadness is no more.

I am so pleased to have found this website yesterday and am delighted that this offering is free to all. While I am willing to pay for this offering of information, I find (in my quest as a lawyer to also positively influence my clients’ habits and life choices) that SO MANY people do not recognize the value of such knowledge. Thank you for keeping this wealth of information free to all. I have already referred one person to your site and will most certainly refer many more!

    Hey Dr Z,

Thanks for this list – I love your work! Do you know (or can you find out ;-)) if essential oils can be ordered from overseas – specifically, do they get irradiated or spoiled in any way to your knowledge. This thought has been holding me back from investing, even though I now have a diffuser! Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

      Hi Joanna,

      Thanks for the kind comment!

Yes, EOs can be ordered from overseas, and don’t worry about them spoiling if they are a reputable company. It would take extreme heat exposure to do any of that and – seeing that many U.S companies sell oils sourced from overseas – I don’t think this is an issue. 🙂

Do you think it is necessary to soak nuts prior to eating? If so, what about using almond flour that
    does not?

Almond flour contains a high level of oxalates so I cannot use it. Plus, it takes 90 nuts to make 1 c.
    Is there a substitute?

I also have had that diffuser and it lasted well over a year of daily/nightly use and being very badly dropped three times before it finally gave up the ghost. I found it to be a great diffuser and have heard from others that it works better than some very expensive ones. I’m sure, as with everything, there are some with defects. Nothing and nobody is perfect and all things that are made by humans are sure to have a few with flaws. I personally got a good one and will be happy to buy another one when needed. (A friend gave me a diffuser after I destroyed my Green Air the third time I dropped it, so I’m set until it quits working.)

Do you see the word “lavender” in here? Oops?

Based on your results peppermint and cajeput are the best essential oils for you!

You have likely heard of peppermint and may be aware of some of its benefits such as helping with memory and concentration, alleviating headaches and sinusitis. But did you know that lavender can also help alleviate asthma symptoms? Or that is can help reduce fever? Peppermint is one powerful essential oil!

Please read the section on “Drug Claims.”

–> If I report on EO research and then directly sell/recommend a product, I’m guilty of making an illegal drug claim.
–> If I report on EO research and do NOT directly sell/recommend a product, our 1st Amendment right protects me.

Thank you so much for this list. It would take so much research to compile this on my own. Some items I have found, but others I have really struggled to find. Thank you also for all the other information that you provide. Your desire to serve others really shows through.

Yes, a HUGE thanks to my extra special awesome team members Dwan & Erica who helped compile this list.

Definitely a labor of love – especially because we’re adding to this regularly… 🙂
