A lack of moisture “down there” can really put a damper on bedroom fun if you know what I mean. And there are many factors that come into play and contribute to vaginal dryness.
As women’s sexual hormones naturally decline with age we start to see:
- A reduction in the elasticity of the vagina and thinning of the skin
- An increase in vaginal pH and decrease in healthy vaginal flora
- Diminished natural lubrication
- Things may start to just “hurt” down there!
Dryness and discomfort often become the “accepted” norm. Researchers have also found that women start to experience many emotional, mood and confidence issues as vaginal dryness symptoms take over.
If a woman has a partner she may find:
- A sex life that needs life-support (Because it hurts!)
- A reduced sense of self-confidence as a woman or partner
- A feeling of disconnectedness or loneliness
Make Your Own Natural Lubricant
A natural lubricant can help by reducing the irritation and painful intercourse caused by vaginal dryness. Natural solutions such as organic coconut oil, aloe vera gel and essential oils do not contain the additional chemicals that can be seen in some commercial lubricant and vaginal moisturizing solutions. DIY lubricants can be created using many ingredients found in your kitchen cabinets and can offer temporary relief.
Dr. Anna Cabeca offered to share her recipe for homemade natural lubricant with my readers. Isn't that awesome of her?
- 1 Tablespoon fractionated coconut oil
- 1 Tablespoon aloe gel
- 1-2 drops essential oils
- Mix in a glass jar.
- Shake well.
- Keep Bedside and Voila!
- Use as much as desired prior too and during intimacy.
Don't have time to make your own?

Safety & Drug Interactions
Are you sure you're using essential oils safely and effectively? Are you confused by dilutions and conversions?
Let me help you by taking out the guesswork. Download my FREE dilution chart guide HERE!
When it comes to drug interactions and contraindications, there are literally textbooks devoted to the study of essential oil safety and, as a trained researcher and doctor, I think it’s important to note that there is virtually no research out there discussing how essential oils interact with drugs in long-term human clinical trials. This means that essential oil safety is still a wild frontier in the science community and no one really knows (for certain) how essential oils will interact with drugs or your body.
Nonetheless, properly diluting your essential oils is fundamental to safety and effectiveness because they are highly concentrated plant compounds. To help you along your journey, I have a created an easy-to-use dilution guide that you can download for FREE to make sure that all of your topical applications are safe and effective for the entire family.
